In a crowded luxury car market, a brand has to do some things to stand out. The Acura brand thinks it has found a unique way to draw attention to one model, the 2019 Acura ILX, and how it’s decided to do it may surprise you.
The brand is showing off its entry-level luxury sedan with the new ILX Total Control experience. It can be found on Facebook Instant Games, meaning it can be played on both the Facebook and Messenger app. It allows players to take the recently refreshed 2019 Acura ILX on a drive, tilting their phone to steer and take on different courses.
The game is meant to show how fun driving this Acura model can be, but it also adds some touches that are unique to video game driving. For example, we wouldn’t recommend drifting through turns or pulling a 360-degree spin on your daily commute. It will be interesting to see if this paves the way for some other more interactive ad campaigns for Acura cars. Once you play the game, it’s time to experience the real 2019 Acura ILX for yourself.
