It was honored for its advanced and new approach to electrified supercar technology. Keep reading to find out more!

The 2017 Acura NSX supercar is highly technical and utterly exhilarating. It features a weight-saving construction that combines with a hybrid powertrain that features three electric motors and mid-mounted twin-turbo V6 that combines to deliver an output of 573 horsepower. The sporty and dynamic coupe comes paired to a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The three electric motors work together to create a dynamic performance that offers enhanced acceleration, cornering, and braking while also offering continuous and dynamic distribution of electric motor torque. Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of Acura, had this to say about the Popular Science honor:

The Acura NSX challenges conventional notions of supercar performance, and it’s great to see our advanced Acura performance technologies receive this kind of recognition. With its three-motor Sport Hybrid powertrain, the NSX is propelling Acura performance in an amazing new direction and we can’t wait to share the results with our customers.

Cliff Ransom, Editor-in-Chief of Popular Science magazine, had this to say:
