The Type-S vehicles take the luxury cars you already love and makes them a bit more powerful. The Acura brand announced a comeback for these models and the development of a new turbocharged V6 engine, and it looks like the first model to get the Type-S treatment will be the successor to the 2019 Acura TLX.
The 2020 Acura TLX was just spotted under heavy camouflage on a test course, but automotive enthusiasts were still able to discern some key details. The model’s grille is covered up, which means that it could have an intercooler hidden by camo. This supports the theory that this Acura sedan is equipped with a new turbocharged V6 engine.
The large-diameter wheels and low-profile tires are also noticeable, and they’re staples of performance cars. The biggest reveal so far could be the four-tailpipe exhaust system, showing that this model is all about power. Based on the cars it was spotted testing with, a 2020 Acura TLX Type-S could have an output of around 350 to 360 horsepower. We can’t wait to see it for ourselves!
