The regular 2016 Acura RLX gets a 3.5-liter V6 engine that puts out 310 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired to front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. In industry testing, it accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. The Sporty Hybrid combines the V6 engine with a three-motor hybrid system that offers total system power of 377 horsepower and 341 lb-ft of torque.
How are the safety scores?
Excellent. The Acura brand is known for its safety. In testing by the NHTSA, it earned a perfect 5-Star Overall rating as well as a perfect five-star rating in total frontal impact safety and total side-impact safety. The IIHS gave the sedan its top score of Good in all of its crash tests. Available safety features (depending on package) include a rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, and road departure intervention.
