When the weather changes, your vehicle will be affected in multiple ways, so it’s important to educate yourself on what you can do to prevent any issues or problems. For starters, we highly recommend that you bring your vehicle in for a service check and for routine maintenance. Our trained and knowledgeable service and parts departments will work to ensure that your vehicle is running in tip-top-shape. You’ll want to make sure that you have the correct oil in your vehicle for colder temperatures, that your battery is charging properly, and that all of your hoses, tubes, and valves are in good shape and aren’t brittle or worn out.

It’s also important to remember that rubber is also affected by cold temperatures. The colder it gets outside, the more brittle and less flexible rubber becomes, meaning your tires may not work as optimally as you’d like. If this is an issue for you, we recommend checking out snow or all-weather tires, as they can better handle the elements.

We also recommend preparing an emergency kit and keeping it in your vehicle during the weather months. In this kit, we recommend jumper cables, windshield wiper fluid, extra warm clothes and blankets, a cell phone charger, gloves and hats, and if you have room for it, a shovel and sand, which can help you out if you get stuck in the snow. We also strongly advise including a first-aid kit in case of a collision.
