The green car revolution is coming, and automakers are producing more and more eco-friendly vehicles every year. While many automakers are gradually shifting from gas vehicles to hybrids, Acura isn’t exactly going this route.

Instead, all new Acura cars will eventually become fully electric, and the first one that will be coming out is an SUV.

What We Know So Far

First of all, we actually don’t know what this new electric SUV will be called, as the name is still being decided. However, Acura has recently filed a trademark application for the letters “ADX,” which could eventually become the name of the vehicle.

Ultium Battery Power

We do know that this electric Acura SUV will be outfitted with an Ultium battery. While its capacity isn’t known yet, it will probably be between 70 kWh and 100 kWh. This will provide a driving range of at least 300 miles thanks to the inclusion of two additional motors and all-wheel drive.

Worth the Wait

If you’ve been waiting for an electric Acura car, the good news is that you will be able to get one very soon. You’ll have to wait a little while longer before you can pick one up, as this Acura SUV won’t be available to buy until 2024 at the earliest.

If you don’t want to wait that long to buy a great car, you don’t have to. Come down to Acura of Peabody to check out all of our new and pre-owned Acura models. Check out our inventory of hybrid models while you’re here!
