We know that the cars we sell here at Acura of Peabody offer impressive performance and some great driving experiences. Whether you take a spin in one of our sedans or get behind the wheel of one of our crossovers, we know that you’ll be impressed. What we really love to see from time to time are modified Acura models that are designed to take on unique challenges, and if you’re anything like us, you should be excited for the 2019 Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the lineup your favorite automaker is bringing to it.

The Pikes Peak Hill Climb puts vehicles to the test on one of the toughest mountain race courses around. Regular cars usually can’t handle it, but if you take some capable street legal models and add in some modifications, they might have a shot. That’s just what the Acura team did for this year.

The most surprising member of the lineup might be this modified 2019 Acura MDX. It’s the Sport Hybrid, but it comes equipped with a larger version of the V6 engine found in the regular model. It combines with the three-motor hybrid system to give this crossover an output of 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque! It also gets some other upgrades, like a race-tuned active-damper suspension system and a roll cage. The mountain isn’t going to know what hit it.

Naturally, the Acura NSX gets some time to shine as well. Two different versions, one that’s mostly made with stock parts and another so-called “Time Attack” version with 625 horsepower will make an appearance. The Acura RDX model that made the climb last year is returning, rounding out the lineup and putting out 350 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. We can’t wait to see how these amazing Acura cars do!
