It also highlighted three themes in its mobility innovation: electrification, automated driving, and connectivity. Keep reading to find out more about what the Acura Precision Cockpit entails.

The all-new Acura Precision Cockpit was inspired by the Acura NSX. Its seats, steering wheel, and drive mode dial all point towards a sporty future for the brand. The brushed metal, natural wood, leather and alcantara finishes create a refined and premium look and feel, while the expressive surfaces and modern detailing capture the cabin’s design aesthetic. Drivers are sure to appreciate the all-new instrument panel with its 12.3-inch driver’s display screen. It also features a center display screen that is placed higher in the cabin, closer to the driver’s natural sight line. The central display is operated through a curved touch pad that is ergonomically designed to eliminate the need to visually look for a button or switch. The touch pad controller uses absolute position mapping to combine the flexibility and usability of a touchscreen with reduced driver distraction.

It was also announced that the AcuraWatch suite of advanced and active safety features and driver-assistance tech has been deployed in more than 70,000 new Acura models. While it’s now standard in the 2017 Acura MDX and 2017 Acura RLX models, it was announced that the Acura brand will apply it as standard equipment on all core Acura models in the future.
