Late last month, the 2017 Acura RLX, the Acura brand’s most lavishly equipped and technologically advanced Acura sedan yet, went on sale at dealership lots across the country. The four-door 2017 Acura RLX seats up to five passengers and is available in two grades: the RLX with Technology Package or the RLX with Advance Package. It comes powered by a direct-injected DOHC i-VTEC V6 engine that has an output of 310 horsepower. Drivers have the option of a couple of drivetrain options. Some models feature the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) technology, while two-wheel drive models can benefit from the brand’s Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) system. The P-AWS enables changes to rear toe angles to create a rear-wheel steering affect that sharpens both low- and high-speed maneuverability and stability.
The Acura brand has long been known for its commitment to safety, and the 2017 Acura RLX continues that tradition. In testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it earned a perfect five-star overall rating as well as perfect five star ratings in frontal crash, side impact, and rollover crash tests. It also features a number of advanced safety features as a part of the AcuraWatch suite of safety technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation, Blind Spot Information, Cross Traffic Monitor, and more.
